The Indian squad for the short tour of Bangladesh in June 2014

According to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Sanjay Patel. The Indian squad for the short tour of Bangladesh in June will be picked on Wednesday, 28th May 2014,

"The team for Bangladesh would be selected at the end of this month, most probably in Bangalore (venue of IPL final on June 1)," Patel also spoke PTI on Wednesday.

India will comprise of just three ODIs touring Bangladesh for a short tour, which will be played in Dhaka for June 15-19. They will be reaching Bangladesh on June 13 and returning back home on June 20. They will then proceed to England to play a long series comprising of five Tests and a five-match ODI series. Incidentally, this will be the first time England are hosting India in a five-Test series since 1959.

Another important series against England in mind, the Indian selectors in all likelihood will rest Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and key batsman Virat Kohli, news reports giving signal.

According to Pate that some new players could be tried out in Bangladesh, while refusing to say about the possibility of resting Dhoni and Kohli.

Hearsays suggest that the side for the 5-Test series in England too could be named today, although Patel had initially said the selectors will name the squad for England at a later date.

The Indian squad will leave for England shortly after returning from Bangladesh with the tour commencing on June 26 with a 3-day game scheduled in Leicester. The team is set to play one more three-day game against Derbyshire July 1-3 before the five-match Test series commencing July 9 at Trent Bridge.

The other 4 Tests are to be played at Lords (July 17-21), Ageas Bowl in Southampton (July 27-31), Old Trafford (August 7-11) and The Oval (August 15-19). The Test series would be followed by the five-match ODI series commencing on August 25 at Bristol before India wind up the visit by playing a one-off T20 International against the hosts on September 7 at Edgbaston.
